Power Climber Wind Enters Brazilian Market with BNDES Approval and Local Production of Fifty Turbine Service Lifts

Time:25 Apr,2016
Power Climber Wind, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, recently opened a new production facility in Recife, Brazil to better serve its customers in that market. Production of Turbine Service Lifts (TSLs) began in winter 2015. An initial delivery of more than fifty Sherpa SD4 TSLs, which will be installed in turbines at the Cabeço Preto and Macambira wind projects, is the first of many in the company’s current order pipeline. A critical step was to obtain compliance with the local content rules of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). “We focused on developing local relationships capable of meeting our volume and quality standards,” said Mike Moritz, Vice President of Supply Chain. “By establishing a local supplier network, Power Climber Wind has met rigorous local content and safety code requirements of the BNDES for its TSLs.” “The BNDES approval and this large TSL order mark major milestones for Power Climber Wind in the Brazilian market,” added Colby Hubler, Sales Manager. “We’ve been manufacturing and supplying the most reliable turbine service lifts to major wind OEMs around the world for decades. Establishing a local presence in Brazil was a natural evolution for us, and we are confident our market- leading TSLs and wind turbine access solutions will be well received by OEMs and technicians here, ultimately improving their safety and productivity.”
