Schaeffler Group will create 105 new jobs at its Fort Mill campus

Time:08 Apr,2016
For the second time in just more than a year, an automotive supplier has announced plans for a multi-million expansion that is expected to create more than 100 new jobs in York County. Schaeffler Group said Monday it would create 105 new jobs with a $36.5 million expansion at its Fort Mill campus on Springhill Farm Road. That site is also the headquarters for the company’s American operations. Plans call for an additional corporate building, expansion of one of the company’s two manufacturing plants and a reworked plant entrance to accommodate growth and increase in traffic. Hiring for the new positions is expected to begin sometime around April 2017. “Our growth has been achieved by supplying state-of-the-art technological innovations that are designed and manufactured by our outstanding employees,” said Schaeffler Americas CEO Bruce Warmbold. Headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, Schaeffler makes precision products for the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries. The company has 84,000 employees in 50 countries. In January 2015, Schaeffler announced a $68 million expansion of its Fort Mill headquarters and two plants there, creating 112 additional jobs. “York County is thrilled to be celebrating yet another expansion by international industry leader Schaeffler Group,” York County Council Chairman Britt Blackwell. “Their commitment to stay and grow here speaks volumes to the pro-business strength of our county and the state of South Carolina. “The investment and new jobs created will make a positive difference in our community.” Want to work?
