1. The PTDA Foundation's award honors Wendy McDonald, a pioneer in the motion-control industry.
The PTDA Foundation’s Wendy B. McDonald Award honors the memory of a pioneer in the power-transmission and motion-control industry. McDonald was the owner of BC Bearings Engineers Limited (acquired by Motion Industries Inc.), an international industrial-distribution company, and a former PDTA member. The award honors her grace and philanthropy, as well as her commitment to give back to the industry and to communities.
2. Liz Moon is the 2015 recipient of the Wendy B. McDonald Award for her pivotal role at her company.
The recipient of this year’s award is Elizabeth (Liz) Moon of Kaman Industrial Technologies Corp. She started her career as a receptionist for inventory and purchasing at Western Bearing, a local distributor, and after it was acquired by global company, Kaman, she progressed to become director of purchasing.
Nominations for next year’s award are being accepted through June 15 and will be judged on the following criteria:
• Nominees must be female and employed by a PTDA-member company within the calendar year when the nomination is made. There are no criteria with respect to title, position in company, or years of experience.
• Nominees must exemplify leadership and integrity in all business relationships.
