Vestas grabs 36MW in Ireland

Time:05 Feb,2016
Vestas has landed a contract to supply 11 turbines to Impax Asset Management’s 36MW Glanaruddery wind farm in Ireland. The Danish manufacturer confirmed this morning that it will deliver V112 3.3MW turbines to the Kerry project, previously known as Dromada More. The project was acquired from Irish developer Saorgus last year in a deal first revealed by the subscriber-only reNEWS. The deal includes delivery, installation and commissioning, as well as a 12-year service agreement. Vestas Northern Europe business head Klaus Steen Mortensen said the contract marks continued market confidence in the V112 3.3MW platform. “This order emphasises the versatility of Vestas’ product portfolio and our ability to create the best possible solutions for our customers every time,” he said. Impax’s Victor Juttmann said: “This is our fifth project in partnership with Vestas, and we are happy to build on our strong relationship with them. He added: “The V112 3.3MW turbine meets the stringent local requirements, and we believe that it is the most suitable turbine for the wind resources at this particular site.” The hardware will be delivered later this year with commissioning expected by the end of the year.
