Starting in February, German wind turbine manufacturerSenvion will have a new chief operating officer (COO), Dr. Christoph Seyfarth, who will manage the supply chain, global blades, global nacelles, operational excellence and order fulfillment divisions.
Seyfarth, who will report directly to CEO Jurgen Geissinger, brings with him more than 20 years of managerial and professional experience in the purchasing departments of international manufacturers, including leadership roles at Alvarez & Marsal, Magna International and Mercedes-Benz.
Seyfarth holds a doctorate in business administration from Germany’s University of Wurzburg. Before his appointment at Senvion, he was a member of the executive committee of Nordex as COO of the nacelle and tower division. At Nordex, he also managed the company’s global purchasing on an interim basis.
“Christoph Seyfarth brings with him experience of the wind industry and is, therefore, familiar with the specifics of the sector,” states Geissinger. “In addition, he has decades of experience in other sectors, including the automotive industry. I am convinced that Senvion is bringing in a COO who will actively support us on our further global expansion path. We are looking forward to the expert reinforcement Christoph Seyfarth will provide.”
In 2015, Suzlon sold Senvion to investment firms Centerbridge Partners and Arpwood Partners. Geissinger was named new CEO in December.
